MCSD Green Waste Area.

As of 11-10-2022 we will begin burning the burn piles a few at a time. There will be a sign posted at the green waste entrance site that notifies people they are controlled burn piles, Do Not Report. We have worked with Cal Fire and our local Siskiyou County Air Quality Control District to ensure we have plans in place to monitor and minimize smoke impacts.

New limited Green Waste use Hours- We apologize for the inconvenience this will cause. Due to several recent unauthorized use violations we have had to lock the gate at the green waste entrance and only open it to our rate paying customers from 8:00am - 3:00pm on week days that the MCSD is open. The Gate will have to remain locked during the weekend. As a reminder - Do Not dump hot ashes in the green waste area. Do not dump trash. Do not drop off boards with nails or paint and no pressure-treated boards are allowed. Rate paying MCSD customers Only, this means if you do not pay a monthly MCSD fee that includes your weekly refuse can collection you do not have permission to use the green waste area. all other persons must pay at the office before using the green waste area. We greatly appreciate that our community keeps a watchful eye over our green waste area, it has been very helpful in many different cases. please continue to be helpful, we do not want to lose the privilege of being able to provide this service.

MCSD snow removal

Our staff is responsible for plowing the alleyways within McCloud boundaries.

Paved streets are the responsibility of Siskiyou County Road department. Their information can be found here.

We begin plowing when there is between 3 and 6 inches depending on the density of the snow pack. Berms are inevitable while plowing, however District staff make every effort to remove large amounts of snow accumulation. More information can be found in MCSD Policy 3400 or by calling our office during business hours with any questions.

Please help our drivers by keeping the alleys clear and stay safe on the roadways.

Holiday Closures

MCSD will be closed June 20th in observance of the new Juneteenth (June 19th) holiday. If you have a sewer or water emergency please call our on-call phone at 530-859-1904.

Be Aware! MCSD does not have any automated systems for billing. If we call you it will be a real person. It has come to our attention that a customer received an automated call from McCloud Community Services billing department (we actually heard it, too).

ALERT 06/01/2021 GARBAGE PICK UP

One of our trucks has broken down today and Black Butte transfer station is full. Trash pick up will be delayed so please be patient. Our guys will be working late to pick up as many households as they can today BUT if your can is still full after 6 PM please take it in for the night and put it back out in the morning by 7am. Sorry for the inconvenience this may cause. Please share this information with your neighbors.

IRRIGATION WATER

The crew at MCSD will begin turning on outside irrigation water today April 7th, 2021. The process may take a couple of weeks so please be patient.

BATTERY RECYCLING DISCONTINUED

Siskiyou County will no longer maintain a local battery recycling program in our office. Unfortunately, the nearest location is the Black Butte Transfer station in Mount Shasta. We are sorry for the inconvenience this will cause our community members.

RATE INCREASE REMINDER

On February 24, 2020 a Resolution was passed that increases rates for MCSD customers over the next four years. The second increase will occur in January, 2021 and will be reflected on your bill in February. Resolution No. 02, 2020 Rate Increase

In order to comply with Covid-19 safety guidelines and protect our staff and community members, our office is temporarily closed to the public. If you have business that can only be taken care of in person please call our office first to make arrangements. Our payment drop box is still available for payments and is checked regularly during business hours. Thank you for your understanding.
